St.Mary's Knanaya Church, Kallissery
The St. Mary's church at Kallissery was established about the year 1580 by the Knanaites after their 30 year old church at Mazhukeer was destroyed in a flash flood. This church is famous for an ancient portrait of St. Mary which is believed to have been painted by St. Luke the Evangelist and carried by the Knanaites during their migrations.

By Road
If you are travelling by bus, the nearest bus stations are Chengannur (3 km) and Thiruvalla (7 km) in that order. Kallissery is accessible by buses running through M. C. Road (SH 1) between Chengannur and Thiruvalla. If you are travelling by car or any other private vehicle, take diversion at Kallissery junction in M. C. Road to Kallissery Eraviperoor Road towards east, travel for 1 km to find the church road as second right after the railway overbridge.
By Rail
Nearest railway stations are Chengannur (Station Code: CNGR)and Tiruvalla (Station Code: TRVL) in that order.
By Air
Closest airports are in Kochi (IATA Code: COK, also called Cochin International Airport) and Thiruvananthapuram (IATA Code: TRV, also called Trivandrum International Airport). Unless you have specific plans, it will be convenient to travel through Kochi airport.
